Welcome to nůn studios! Participants will turn a still image into a moving one. Bring your laptop, photographs, and please have Spectrolite downloaded to your computer beforehand. If you don’t have a laptop, please email ([email protected]) as we have limited laptops to lend during this workshop. This class is great for beginners to risograph animation – no prior risograph experience required! Participants will walk away with their risograph printed contact sheets and a moving .gif of their work.
ilish bath’s risograph journey began with her BFA multimedia thesis installation, everywhen. A project that combined ink drawings, digitized hi8 tapes + family archives, projection mapping and risograph animation to explore circular time, dreams, familial memory and bond. ilish prints and teaches at nůn studios—illustrating, and assisting in a wide range of art, production, exhibition, and mural services—applying a lifelong drawing practice and persistent desire to learn within community contexts. ilish’s exploratory risograph practice honors diasporic cultures, while deepening and honoring her own Korean roots.
